Hold the Wheel is a cycling physics simulation published by CodeUX.design e.U. (Austria). This policy covers the Android app, the web version at holdthewheel-app.codeux.design, and this website at holdthewheel.codeux.design.
The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising, no accounts and no sign-in. It makes no network requests, so nothing you enter or do in the app is ever transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see it, because it never leaves your device.
There is no personal data for us to sell or share, and we do not do either.
Your settings, riders and saved presets are stored locally on your device so the app can restore them when you reopen it. This data stays there. Deleting the app removes it; on the web version, clearing your browser's site data for this domain does the same.
Visiting either site writes an ordinary web server access log entry: IP address, browser user agent, the file requested and the time. This is used only to operate and secure the site, is not combined with anything else, is never used to profile visitors, and is kept for a short period before being discarded. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
Apart from the video described below, these pages load no third-party fonts, scripts, trackers or advertising.
The home page shows a short film hosted on YouTube. It loads when you scroll it into view, and then plays silently on a loop. Until that moment the player does not exist on the page and nothing has been requested from YouTube or Google — so opening the page, or leaving before you reach the film, discloses nothing to them.
Once it loads, the video is embedded through
youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. From that
point YouTube receives your IP address and can set storage in your browser in
order to play it. That is Google's processing, under
their privacy policy, not
ours.
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may object to or request restriction of its processing. In practice this can only concern the server logs described above, as the apps hold nothing about you. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Austria, the Datenschutzbehörde.
The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, of any age.
If a future version of the app collects or transmits anything, we will update this page before that version is released, and change the date above.
